Microsoft to have Windows Mobile App Store
Probably the best feature of the Apple iPhone would be the Apple App Store. It is this store in which users have access to some of the most interesting applications for their iPhone. It is these applications that make the iPhone the best phone on the planet. Well for those who have Windows Mobile on their smartphone, do not fret. Microsoft has something up their sleeve to battle the Apple App Store. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has announced the Windows Mobile App store. In a statement, he said the following:
“I actually will agree that there’s some good work, particularly at Facebook, and also with the iPhone, where both of those companies have made it easier for developers to distribute their applications. [They've] made it easier to kind of get exposure for your applications. There’s not much money being made, but the general concept of giving developers a way not only to get their code distributed, but to really get visibility for the code, is a good idea.”
Although it is quite obvious, Ballmer suggested that the Windows Mobile App store is in no way a “mimic” of the Apple App store. Further information and a release date has yet to be announced. Stay tuned as more information comes our way.
