NXP Semiconductors of The Netherlands has developed intelligent HDMI switches featuring built-in auto-adaptive equalizers which help maintain consistent audio and visual quality over long HDMI cables. Their new TDA9996 HDMI1.3a smart switches are capable of supporting over 20 meters of cable with deep color 1080p. Their switches are able to handle 4 HDMI inputs allowing users to view HD content from different sources with the option of switching between them.
