So do you need more HDMI cables for the new wave of HDTVs, Blu-ray players, and Playstation 3 consoles? What if you needed cables longer than 50 feet? Gefen Inc, a company that specializes in HDMI cables, will introduce the new Wireless for HDMI Extender at the CEDIA Expo 2008. The new wireless HDMI extender will produce an image with 1080i resolution and has HDCP compliance. The new wireless HDMI extender uses Amimon’s 5GHz wireless technology that delivers uncompressed HDMI audio and video up to 90 feet of distance. Since the wireless HDMI extender does not require line-of-sight, meaning it does not have to be close or in the vicinity of the HDTV or Blu-ray player, in order to work. So the wireless HDMI extender can be placed any where. A price tag and a release date has yet to be announced by Gefen Inc. This product sounds awesome.
