Sources have told Blu-ray.com that one of the major Blu-ray player manufacturers will be offering a Blu-ray player for less than $200 this holiday shopping season. We’ll most likely see this deal during “Black Friday”, after Thanksgiving sale. The players expected to go on sale will most likely be entry-level BonusView (v1.1) players that most companies are trying to push because of the new BD-Live (v2.0) players on the way. There are also rumors of Sony lowering the price of their $350 BDP-S350 and BDP-S550 Blu-ray players as well. Blu-ray player and disc companies are set on growing the popularity of Blu-rays for this holiday shopping season and if they play their cards right they just might pull it off.
