LG introduces Scarlet LG80 HDTV
LG Electronics has just introduced the new LG Scarlet LG80 HDTV, which is the next HDTV from the Scarlet family. According to LG, the new Scarlet LG80 boasts a great sound system as well as supreme picture quality. The Scarlet LG80 has a 3.1-channel virtual surround sound system and 50 watts of output with a woofer. But what makes this HDTV unique is the ability of the speakers to slide in and out of the sides of the HDTV when the unit is turned on or off. The new HDTV also boasts LG’s Clear voice technology, contrast ratio of 30,000:1, AV mode, Glare reduction, home theater effects, SRS, TSXT, and 2 HDMI 1.3 ports and USB 2.0. The following statement was released by Simon Kang, head of LG Digital Display Company:
“We developed the LG80 based on insights that we found from customer surveying. The results indicated that customers want a TV that delivers more than just great picture quality. They also want a TV with superb sound quality,” stated Kang. “We expect this TV to really resonate with young people who like to entertain friends at home while watching movies and sports or playing video games. It also has the features requested by people upgrading from older CRT or projection sets to flat panel TVs.”
A release date and price has yet to be announced by LG Electronics.
