Piracy is really hurting the music and movie industry around the world, Warner Bros is said to be ending their DVD business in South Korea because of how bad movie piracy has become there. Now it seems that Blu-ray movies are falling victim to piracy. Fake Blu-rays are showing up in China now, no surprise. These fake Blu-ray discs are just DVDs in a Blu-ray package. Some pirates are even ripping real Blu-ray discs but in AVCHD format on DVDs which is only 720p as opposed to Blu-rays 1080p. No one has seen these fake Blu-rays outside of Asia which go for $7 a pop, but it won’t be long until they hit the streets of downtown LA.
