Blu-ray expected to outsell DVDs by 2011

Sony Pictures stated that market reports have shown that sales of Blu-ray movies should outnumber DVDs by 2011 and should have at least 40 percent of the market in 2010. Blu-ray disc sales have grown by 25 percent in 2008 alone, thanks to the growing number of movies available and the popularity of Blu-ray players. Sales of Blu-ray players have grown by 400 and 600 percent in Europe and the US and are expected to grow even further.
