Anchor Bay Offers New Low-Cost HDMI 1.3 Deep Color Video-Processing IC for Blu-ray Players and AV Receivers
Anchor Bay introduced their new color video-processing IC for low cost format-conversion applications in STB, DVD, AVR, and Blu-ray player/recorders. Pretty interesting read.
The ABT1030’s PReP technology reverts the progressive video signal output from source equipment, such as DVD players, AV receivers, and set-top-boxes, to its original interlaced format, which is then converted to progressive video using Precision Deinterlacing™ technology. This process eliminates jaggies, feathering, and other degrading effects from other deinterlacers. Anchor Bay’s unique PReP technology improves picture quality of 480p and 576p signals.
The ABT1030 fully supports HDMI 1.3 with Deep Color™ (36-bit inputs and outputs) and xvYCC colorimetry capabilities, featuring 12-bit input and output resolutions. Video signals from 480i up to full 1080P HDTV is completely supported as well when using the ABT1030’s pass-through mode.
“The ABT1030 is an exciting price/performance breakthrough for the video-processing industry, offering full 1080P 36-bit video at a fraction of the cost of any competing IC” said C.H.Chee, VP of Technology Marketing at Anchor Bay. “With the addition of the ABT1030 to our lineup, OEMs have yet another affordable way of delivering our reference quality video processing in high-volume applications.”
The ABT1030 IC samples and evaluation boards are available in September. More information about this product and Anchor Bay’s suite of VRS technologies is available at www.anchorbaytech.com.
