Best Buy buying Napster for $121 million
Best Buy is set to purchase the once cool Napster brand for an astonishing $121 million. This includes about $67 million of cash and investments making the deal worth really about $54. With other music stores like iTunes, Zune Marketplace and Amazon already doing so well what could Best Buy be planning with Napster? With Best Buy already holding a lot of marketshare with their physical retail locations as an avenue to buy music movies and games, perhaps their next goal is to take a chunk of the market share online?
